Can certain foods aggravate arthritis?!

Question: Can certain foods aggravate arthritis.?
My boyfriend has been eating store bought frozen pot pies, and suffering from severe jaw pain that was identified as arthritis. He realized that every time he ate the pies, the pain would start. Could something in these pies (maybe the high sodium.?) be the root of the problem.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
They sure can. For instance I know that people with Rheumatoid Arthritis are told to avoid nightshade variety (eggplant, peppers, etc) vegetables as they are known to cause more pain. If he is sensitive to food additives this may also trigger a reaction and most pot pies are notoriously chock full of msg, food coloring, and other additives in addition to being high in sodium. He should just try to find an alternative or skip that brand of pot pies altogether. Hope this helps!Health Question & Answer

This is a very good possibility, the link between food and arthritis as well as food and a multitude of other problems that seem to have no real identifiable cause are increasing. Two great sources for these connections are David Seaman and Alex Vasquez. This is really the cutting edge of nutrition so theories are still being tested but both are doctors in practice so these are methods that have worked on their patients and their colleagues' patients.
