Question: What are they looking for in a blood/urine test.?
I'm applying for insurance, but because of a previous eye condition I had, the company is a little reluctant. The condition happened 4 years ago and I haven't had a check up since then as everything has been fine.
Before allowing the insurance, I'm now required to fast for 12 hours before going for a blood and urine test. What are they looking for in these tests, and is it anything I should be concerned about.?

If they're requiring you to fast, I'd assume they're looking for anything out of the ordinary. High cholesterol, glucose abnormalities, Red or white blood cell issues, etc.

WEll the urine has nothing to do with your eye condition. They are checking if you have any infections and mainly drugs! That is what they are looking for because they want to make sure you are not addicted or using any form of drugs to help you with the pain ! You also didn't give detail to what was your condition!

Things like diabetes and other long-term diseases. This is health insurance, right.? If so, a lot of health insurances want to make sure that you don't have any diseases that they're going to have to constantly be helping pay the medical bills for. That's why you may hear of a cancer patient's insurance company dropping them. :( It's kind of depressing. I hope all is well!Health Question & Answer
Blood in the urine can be a sign of bladder infections. dehydration, urinary tract infection, and enlarged prostate. I am sure there are a few other things that they can check out Health Question & Answer
