I have had this problem for weeks. My left arm is getting weaker, upper arm feels heavy, The left side of my left hand is numb. My left little finger(on left hand) is numb, my fourth finger beside it is numb on the left side of finger only. The other fingers and fight side of fourth finger are not numb. I have been to Dr. 2 weeks ago and he said "it's nothing to worry about. It will go away". WELL, it hasn't.. have rested arm and gently done range of motion on arm and fingers..( I am right handed} I am really scared. I live alone and this is making my daily activities impossible. I go to Dr today. Please tell me what to tell him. I can't seem to make him realize that this is important(small town Doc} My left hand has no strength,or grip, and I'm dropping things . If you know anything, please help me to help DR. I'm serious on this question. Please....Thank you

Just by reading that your left hand gets numb...this can definitely be a back issue, causing a nerve to be pinched. Ask him if it's possible that a nerve is pinched or something wrong with the muscle. Yes it does sound serious. If you have no previous injury to that arm, it sounds nerve-related. he cant be a very good doctor. if he doesnt know what's causing it, he should have referred you to a specialist. get a second opinion, it sounds serious.Health Question & Answer
Have you been driving with your elbow out the window much lately.? If so, you may need to exercise your arm with one of those elastic bands. See an orthopetic doctor.Health Question & Answer
