Would a fracture of the scapula...?!
Question: Would a fracture of the scapula....?
hurt above, side and underneath the breast.? Would it make taking a deep breath somewhat painful.? Does it sound more like a rib fracture.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
It is highly unlikely that you have fractured your scapula (shoulder blade) There is a muscle that runs from the middle edge and underside of the shoulder blade and attaches to the side of your rib cage. Sounds like you may have a problem with this muscle but it could be several other things. Try putting your hands on top of your head and take a deep breath. Does your pain change.?
Here are a few links that give you more information about that muscle.

Too hard to say what else it may be without more information. Go see your doctor to make sure its nothing serious and get an accurate diagnosis. I recommend physical therapy if its a musculoskeletal problems that is just not going away.
Good luck, hope that helps.
