I keep staying up late and missing sleep. how do i sleep 9 hours?!

Question: I keep staying up late and missing sleep. how do i sleep 9 hours.?
Answers:
If this a common occurrence, you may be suffering from delayed sleep phase disorder.
Delayed sleep phase disorder mostly affects teenagers, but can last into young adulthood. Their sleep phase (when people go to bed and when they wake up) is therefore delayed a few to several hours from when most people go to bed. People suffering from it generally do not get sleepy until early to mid-morning. When they finally go to bed they'll want to sleep the regular 7 to 9 hours.
You can't be diagnosed with this until you've ruled out other culprits that may be keeping you up. Do you nap during the day.? How late do you consume caffeine.? Are you worried or stressed out.?
Some people are more sensitive to caffeine than others. Try removing all sources of caffeine from your diet entirely or at least before noon. also, do not do anything engrossing or that excites the senses (computer/tv) one hour before bed. Overloading your senses before going to bed can make if very hard for your body and mind to relax and go to sleep.Health Question & Answer
