When you first start smoking that is something along the lines of a typical reaction, which is just your body naturally reacting to the posion your putting in it. But as a ex-smoker myself I can tell you that if you keep smoking after awhile you become used to it and cigarettes start feeling really refreshing and relaxing and relieve stress, that and the fact that they are cool, legal, and addictive is why people smoke.Health Question & Answer

The nicotine in the cigarettes are so addictive that people generally ignore the unpleasant side-effects in exchange for the comfort of inhaled smoke. I'm not surprised you got sick, many do. Nicotine is the chief component used in pesticides and pure nicotine is known to be more deadly than cobra venom. Why do people smoke.? Simple addiction.

I really think you should avoid cigarettes, both smoking first hand and inhaling second hand as you could actually be allergic to the chemicals. I keep my distance from people who smoke, not to be mean, simply cause I feel nauseous even smelling the aroma of someone who just finished a bud.

So it's not stupid, there's no requirement that you HAVE to smoke in your lifetime. Be above the influence and go with what your gut is telling you about avoiding death stix.

Hope you're okay. Health Question & Answer

Studies show that 25% of smokers do get hooked from the very first cigarette. Nicotene is one of the most addicting substances we know. Some don't have quite as negative reactions starting off, but most have some negative reaction; but most kids tend to force themselves through it, train themselves to tolerate it, so that their "friends" won't make fun of them. Some friends.Health Question & Answer

The best thing for you to do is not smoke another one. You might not can get addicted to it the first time. I felt like that the first time I tried smoking, it was a horrible feeling. I was 12 yrs old now i'm 21 and still smoke, oh and by the way i have a lot of breathing problems because of it. So I really suggest you not try it again.
Hope you don't do it again.Health Question & Answer

Why do kids smoke.? Many reasons: peer pressure, too look cool, blend in, etc.
I don't think a lot of kids go through what happened to you, although many of them cough a lot.
You can get addicted the first time you smoke, although I know many people who didn't get addicted their first time.Health Question & Answer
