Question: Is anyone else here an insomniac.? How can I fix this and get to sleep already.?!.?
I need some suggestions, if you have any, for helping me sleep.

Sounds like you are a worry wart. Try to take a nice hot bath just before bed time. also, do not eat anything at least 4 hours before you go to sleep, especially stuff high in carbohydrates.

Keep the temperature in your dwelling lower at night than you would in the daytime. Colder air inside the house allows your body to regulate it's temperature better, and thus, causes more comfort.

Clear your mind of all of the day's worries and imagine yourself being in a dark room with no door and no lights and just focus on the darkness without letting your thoughts wander. also, keeping some kind of steady background noise, such as a small fan, will help drown out any creaks and sounds that might distract you from focusing on a good-nights sleep. The constant background noise helps the brain find a rhythm on sine waves that are pleasing and helps you relax and drift off and stay asleep.

One last tip: Fix your sleep schedule by waking up no later then 8:00 AM and going to sleep no later then 9:00 PM for about 14 days. If you can pull this off and use the tips above, you will be well on your way to wonderful sleep without meds.Health Question & Answer
