Several things may help, you may have a serious foot problem so if these simple home remedies don't help, go see your family doctor or a foot doctor - Podiatrist
Take ibuprofen (Motrin) 400 mg. to 600 mg. every 8 hours to decrease the pain and swelling. Don't take this if you have kidney problems and avoid taking it for longer than 5 days

Buy an arch support or better more comfortable foot wear
Stretch your calf muscles this will stretch the tendons which will relieve the tightness and pain. the best way to do it is place hands on a table and move your foot back gently till you feel the muscles stretch then gently bounce your heel down to the floor. move your foot back a little more and repeat. This exercise stretches the plantar tendon and Achilles tendon. It should be done every hour or so while standing
Roll a cold soft drink can under your foot to stretch the arch.
Massage your foot pay close attention to the arch area
Soak your foot in very warn water, you can add Epsom salts to the waterHealth Question & Answer

Have you tried getting comfortable footwear with cushioned insoles.? You can also buy arch supports, but these can be difficult to fit into your shoes, and the more you use them, the more you need to wear them daily.

you'll get used to it eventually. you could try a different type of shoes or get some insoles. i too can't sit unless i'm on break. sometimes i go to the bathroom just so i can sit for a bit. lol.. Health Question & Answer
