Question: Has anyone had their blood vessel in their nose cauterized.? Either you, your child or someone you know.?
My 7 year old is going in wednesday for this procedure and was wondering what I should expect.? He gets nose bleeds really bad. The last one was last week and it lasted 40 minutes. He is going to get the blood vessel cauterized and will be put under for the procedure. Was it painful.? Were you or your child able to go to work or school the next day.? I had that done in the E.R. They never put me out, but instead strapped my head down and did it. It burned really bad. However if the Dr is putting your son out for the procedure, then he will be fine. It didn't hurt too bad after the cauterizing, and he'll be fine for school the next day. Make sure he doesn't pick at his nose.
I used to get nosebleeds all the time. At least 2 a week. Sometimes they'd last for hours. After I had my nose cauterized ( 18 yrs ago) I've only ever had a couple of small nosebleeds. You're doing the right thing, as it's so worth it.Health Question & Answer
