ok my father in law just called and said he's had diarrhea for two weeks straight.. went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything.. his blood pressure has been being 80/60 and he's dehydrated.. what could this be.?.? my husband is really worried about him.. he called and said he's really sick. He wasn't admitted to a hospital.? I can't say what causing the problem, but the diarrhea is causing his dehydration. This could be causing his low blood pressure (you know how people with hypertension take diuretics to help lower it...this is the opposite). He should be on IV fluids while they figure out what's wrong with him. His BP's so low (what is it normally), and he's that sick, I'd take him right to the ER. Health Question & Answer
