Woke up and my right ear has no hearing!!?!
Question: Woke up and my right ear has no hearing!!.?
I went to sleep last night and there was no pain or anything. My ear was absolutely fine. I woke up and I have no hearing on my right ear. I hear it when I touch it, when I eat, swallow.
I did some research and I have all the symptoms of Barotruama
It is when you have a decrease of water, or air pressure in your ears.
Ways to cure it is w/ chewing gum, or hard candy. also closing your mouth, and holding your nose and blowing air into it. I've been trying all of those things besides the gum, but I need help...

yes, and please try not giving it up at all. i think you have somehow put water in your ear's accidentally like while your bathing or so. And hey please try to go to the doctor immediately. don't be too late. Continue with the process ther doctor says and try chewing gum a lot and see what happens.Health Question & Answer
It sounds like a build up of ear wax. Go to the doctor and she can flush out your ear with water, which will remove the wax.Health Question & Answer
You cannot cure Barotrauma by chewing gum... barotrauma causes your ear drum to burst, your ossicular chain disconnects... etc. You don't have barotrauma... believe me, you'd know if you did. You'd be bleeding from your ear and be in excruciating pain. Barotrauma occurs most frequently in scuba divers when they fail to equalize the pressure in their ears as they descend into the water. They get a blowout due to water pressure.
It is MORE likely that you have impacted wax in your ear. You said you can't hear out of it... but then you say something about only when you touch it. So which one is it.? If it were me, I'd go see your physician and see if there is a wax impaction or something else physicially going on. If there is wax, have it removed. If not, you need to go see an Audiologist and get your hearing tested to figure out what's going on. There are some other conditions that can eliminate hearing overnight, but they are extremely uncommon.Health Question & Answer
