What does it mean when your chest starts to randomly hurt?!

Question: What does it mean when your chest starts to randomly hurt.?
My chest, specifically around where my heart is, has been hurting. They only last about 20 seconds or so, but the last one I had lasted almost a minute (it felt like 2 but when its happening it seems longer). Nothing really triggers these episodes they just happen. It feels like my heart....but I could be wrong. I do have trouble breathing when it happens. I haven't had one in almost two weeks but before that it was a week before. I have had a total of 5 episodes in a month and a half. I will be going to go see the doctor, I just want to know if anyone has a possible idea of what could be happening to me.Health Question & Answer

It sounds like you are worried about your heart,, or a heart attack,,which is a pretty common fear,,, but it never hurts to be safe,, here is an article that will either put your mind to rest about your heart or let you know you need to seek medical attention. I hope it's the first one not that last,,, but at least you will have a lot better idea after reading the article

I think anxiety causes the same symptoms far more often than actual heart attacks,,,,

as long as you are not a minor I would take a baby aspirin everyday until you see the doctor,,, it's what your doc would tell you to do,,,, but if you are under 18 DON'T take anything,, bad things can happen to teenagers taking aspirin I think,,,talk to your parentsHealth Question & Answer

See a massage therapist. The muscles are tight.
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UC Davis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
