Boil Question. Please, please, answer?!

Question: Boil Question. Please, please, answer.?
I have a boil and i really, really, really, don't want to have it lanced. I wanted to know if there is anything i can do to help it heal on its own. I have put a bandade on it to stop my clothing from rubing but i don't know what else to do. I also really don't want to go to the doctor. I'm kind of terrified of the doctor's office. Try wetting a washcloth with HOT water, and pressing it over and over on the boil with the hottest water you can stand. If you do it for a half hour and it doesn't burst, wait and do it again the next day. Keep at it, and you should be able to burst it yourself. Then put talc powder on that area to keep it from happening again
If you ever MUST have it lanced by a doctor, insist that you be put out. It really hurts.
Good luck! I hope you can do it on your own. :)Health Question & Answer

U didn't say where the boil is & that would make a big difference on how to treat it.If in groin area then run tub of water as hot as you can stand it then soak in tub to soften it so you could burst it while its not so tender, If under the arm then place hot compress to it to sooth the hurting, if you can burst it then it will feel better, if you do burst it then clean it good with peroxide then put some neosporin cream on it. Eating a tablespoon of WHITE raisins daily will help you to stop getting them.Health Question & Answer

A boil is an infection caused by staph bacteria. Opening it yourself could spread the infection and leave you with a scar. Your doctor may choose to treat it with antibiotics first, which may take care of it.Health Question & Answer
