cleaning off dining room plates from residents meals after the residents have left the room.?.?.? I got jumped on big time today for this by the head of the head of the care facility and not in a nice way either. It made me cry because it was in front of other co workers. I'm confused...I worked in the health care field for many years and spent many weeks in the hospital and I would say that your supervisor was way off base. The gloves were for your protection. We were to wear gloves whenever coming in contact with anything from the residents. Who's to say someone doesn't have a contagious condition (MRSA) and spit out their food, then you got the food on a cut. Now you're sick. Plus you NEVER should have been reprimanded in front of anyone. That is always to be done behind closed doors!!!!!!!!!!Health Question & Answer
I think it degrades the residents. It's leftover food for god sake. It's not like they puked all over the plates before you picked them up. Sorry I don't agree with you but I assumed you'd want an honest answer and not just someone agreeing with you just to stroke your ego.Health Question & Answer
