Answers:
Sounds like you could have an injured (avulsed) tendon causing laxity of the joint. Two scenarios here: 1 total avulsion (complete rupture of tendon) or partial avulsion (torn tendon.) By your description it sounds like a partial disruption. Try physical therapy to strengthen the intact tendons. Take a general joint-formula supplement with chondroitin sulfate. An occasional Ibuprofen for inflammation and or pain. Use a finger brace for activities you know will cause dislocation, as continued dislocation weakens and inappropriately stretches the tendon. Consult a physician if it is pain full, conservative management (the above suggestions don't work,) or it seems to be worsening. Consideration to surgery should be given.Health Question & Answer
