Question: My mum have trapped nerve, she is 79. sometimes it gives her lot of pain in her leg. is operation good worth.?
Answers:
It depends how healthy she is. The less healthy/ more weak she is then the higher chance there is of there being complications in the operation. You need to talk to a doctor who knows the details of your mum's medical history.Health Question & Answer

My Mum is 78 and recently had operations on both wrist because she had something called Carpal Tunnel syndrome. I suppose that you have to weigh up the risks. If it involves a general anaesthetic, then this is obviously dangerous for anyone over 70 and so you have to balance the risk of the general anaesthetic against the possibility of a better quality of life. It's not an easy one to call, unless you are certain that her life would definitely benefit as a result of the operation.

My Mum's operation was only carried out under local anaesthetic so her decision was fairly easy to make, she went ahead and now her wrists are much better.Health Question & Answer
