So i was given a pill and i took it..yea yea i know, if i don't know what it is don't take it..don't judge..anyway..it was a meth pill...how long does it stay in a person's system..i have to take a piss test for a job and i need to know how long it will be in my system..all i drink is water..no soda pop..and sometimes tea...can any one help answer that for me..thank youHealth Question & Answer

All previous answers are WRONG! The half life of methadone is 24-36 hours, meaning that if you took a 10 mg pill, then in 36 hours, you will still have 5 mg, then 2.5 mg 36 hours after that. That is still a detectable amount in a drug test and would come back positive if you are being screened for it. Methadone has he longest half life of any narcotic pain reliever on the market, which is why it is used for people with chronic pain issues. They can take much less medication and keep their pain under control. Depending on the dosage you took, you could test positive for up to a week after taking it. I know because I took it for pain management. I only took it for 4 days and stopped because of allergic reaction, but it stayed in my system and detectable in a drug test for 3 weeks!Health Question & Answer
