Nightshift work.....?!

Question: Nightshift work......?
I have been working nightshift for 10 years now and always feel very tired and sluggish. This has made my eyes look very tired and dark and I am beginning to develop a very slight lazy eye. Can anyone recommend any remedies to help clear this up or not to get worse and to help me look more awake. thanks a lot :)Health Question & Answer

Try to stay fit... I have also been working the night shift for almost two years nows... i recommend that you:

1.- Get only 8 Hours of sleep (Do not over-sleep or this will only make you more tired0

2.- Get a routine to stay in shape (Going ot the gym or simply just jogging)

3.- On your days off try to be as productive as possible

4.- Maintain a good diet

I know this might sound crazy however for me this has worked out fine it was recomended to me by my boss you will feeol differently as well as more healthy.

GOOD LUCK!Health Question & Answer

I can't suggest any remedies for your eyes. I spent some time working the night shift and I found that it drove me a little crazy. It took me a couple of years before I wasn't somewhat nocturnal after that. The night shift works for some people, not so well for others. I decided I couldn't do it any more. If you are determined to keep the shift, I would suggest getting into a really good sleep pattern. That was probably my biggest problem. I only slept when I could. Sometimes late, sometimes early, sometimes not at all. If you want to keep the night shift, you need to have a good place to sleep during the day and stick to a regular schedule. A good bed in a quiet place, with good curtains to block out the light. Go to be and wake up at the same time every night/morning. A good pattern and a good night's/day's sleep is the most important thing. Do that and you should look like anyone else.Health Question & Answer

Data in complete. You did not state hours sleep and eating pattern, Do you get exercise.? I have done night work over 10 years and change my day pattern to a night pattern.

If you have done this, then suggest see a doctor. Remember vitamin D requires sunlight. To be manufacture by the body.Health Question & Answer

10 years! it's odd, people who have been working nightshift for such a long time must have been used to it. if you still find all these symptoms, that mean your body has been struggling for 10 years, that's not good. you'd better go to the doctor, and change a job,if possible!Health Question & Answer
