Have you ever been in a really bad accident?!

Question: Have you ever been in a really bad accident.?
I was in a car wreck in 97 & still suffer the consequences. It wasn't my fault. An older man ran a stop sign n crunched me up against an electric pole. He died instantly. The electric wires were hanging right beside my little truck and I had almost gone through the windshield. My arm was broken in several places,my ankle was completely crushed & I had head injuries from hitting the windshield. They said I would probably never walk again, but I was determined & with the help of my young children I was able to do therapy in my home & I'm walking now with only a slight limp. By the looks of the wreck the EMS people said it was a miracle I was even alive.Health Question & Answer

There have been SO MANY accidents in my life I sometimes wonder 'why' I'm still here...and most of the accidents were extreme and potentially fatal. Many of my relatives say it is only because God must have 'plans' for me somewhere 'down the line'. I suspect 'that line' is now approaching coming to an end and wonder 'what it was' that I was 'being saved' for... I don't see that I've ever done anything that anyone else wouldn't have done had they been in my shoes... The 'accidents' have actually enriched my life in giving me an appreciation of life as it has been, is and can be...and anticipation of what's beyond... My life lived is appreciation and awe...Health Question & Answer

Yes, back in 1987. It happened less than a half a mile from home. I was only 19. It was about 5am and I was on my way to work (when I worked at Pizza Hut as an opener). I didn't have my seat belt on. Well, I looked over for a second to move something off the passenger seat and when I looked up I was heading for a ditch, I tried to steer out of it but it didn't work, the ditch was too steep. I saw I was heading for an electric pole and a bush, but my car was out of control, all I could do was brace myself. I don't remember hitting the pole. All I remember is walking across the street to a house (whose power I knocked out) faintly saying "help".
I broke my collar bone, scratched up my face, and hurt my right knee pretty bad (it was stuck between the dashboard and the seat), but I somehow got out. The only reminders I have of that wreck are when the weather changes, my collar bone and my knee ache.Health Question & Answer
