Question: Tetanus boost . . . arm pain .?
i had my tetanus booster injection lately. the arm is very painful when i apply any pressure i cant even sleep on it and maybe cant even touch it its been 4 days and i still have to avoid it touching anything or sleeping on it....is the pain normal.? is it meant to be this bad.? did they do the jab wrong.? when will the pain go.?.......help!!!!!Health Question & Answer


Answers:
Very normal. Tetanus shots are known to be quite painful (like not even being able to fully use that arm!) for a few days. Pay attention if it gets red, swollen or leaks something as that may indicate infection.

Use ice in the meantime and Ibuprofen as this will cut down the inflammation.

unfortunately it can last for up to two weeks or so. i dont really understand the purpose of all the pain afterwards but its there. just soothing it with cold compresses and take something like alieve or tylenol ( whatever you have on hand) for the pain...if after that two weeks time it is still hurting consult your doctor ...so he can take it from there, any other steps that may need to be taken.Health Question & Answer
