Did your parents do something special for you when you were sick?!

Question: Did your parents do something special for you when you were sick.?
Let's face it; being sick as a kid was a lot more fun than it is as an adult. You got to scarf down shorbet, eat delicious soup, and watch cartoons and reruns all day. Now it means falling behind in school and/or work.

This question came to me just now since I'm home sick with a cold. Did your parents do something special for you when you were sick.? I remember my dad buying me 7-11 slurpees and People magazine to keep me from getting bored.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
My Dad, who is still my best friend to this day (I'm 36!), always made me Ginger Ale slushies and cinnamon toast. He served the toast on a little pink octagonal plate (Depression Glass) that had belonged to his grandmother. His mom had served cinnamon toast on it for him when he was sick as a kid, too. He'd also rent old movies, like Gone With the Wind and Casablanca and Little Women for me, moving everything upstairs to my room (it was the eighties--most people didn't have a VCR or color TV in every room). Then, at night, he'd read to me until I fell asleep. I love my Dad!

The Downside:
Unfortunately, my mother (AKA Satan's little helper) got angry when I was in college and threw the plate and broke it. I've been looking at antique stores for one ever since. If anyone sees one.... ;-)Health Question & Answer

My parents were very sweet to me. They would come in often and ask if I needed something.
also, they often bought me a little something to cheer me up. Last time; I was sick with something and it made my nose bleed all night long. My mom slept with me and kept wiping the blood off, and of course when I woke up I had dry blood covering my nose and a napkin stuck to my face but I also noticed my mom walk in with breakfast that I loved she even bought me a video game because she so worried. >w<

D| Being sick was more fun when you were younger, not it's sorta bad. Though, you still know that there are people who love and will care for you if you're ever sick. c: They'll help you catch up and everything. x3Health Question & Answer

My parents had too many kids to watch over (there were 6 of us) so when one of us got sick, we got quarantined to our rooms....

But my grandma however always took pity on us when we were sick & would bring us our favorite ice cream and sit on the side of our bed for hours, just to talk. She lived about a half hour away - and somehow always knew exactly what our new favorite ice cream flavor was. I admit, I actually faked it a few times, just to spend that special time with grandma. She's passed away now, but even as an adult I get the urge, or voice, to eat ice cream when I'm sick.

Yeah, those were the good ol' days!Health Question & Answer

I always got to drink 7 up, or lemon lime drinks, because it helps to settle the stomach down.
One of my favorites from mom was saltine crackers with choc frosting in the middle, like a tiny sandwich. Loved those. The salt mixing with choc flavor is fantastic!!Health Question & Answer

My mom would make snacks and turn the tv on in my room, climb into bed beside me and watch all my favorites. She would spend all day long watching tv and talking to me. I miss her so much she passed away 4 years ago.Health Question & Answer
