Question: What kind of toe infection do I have.? And should I go to the doctor.?
Lately My Big toe has been hurting me, in a sharp painful way, it's not stinging me or anything. I know I don't have an ingrown toenail because all my toenails are straight and none are digging under my skin. But I was checking my toe, and it looks like there is a cut on my skin that is really close to my toenail, and some pus was coming out of the cut. So can anyone tell me what I have.?
My symptoms are: swelling, pain, pus/drainage, and maybe a cut.?

well first suggestion is make sure to keep the area clean,...
if you have hydrogen peroxide use that on and around the cut area. it wil feel warm and fizzy but thats ok...gross but sqeez the toe a little to get out any other puss...then put some neospornin or something of that nature on....( antibcaterial healing ointment)if you have any form of gauze would be good to put over the cut area as well...
repeat this procedure at least ( minimum of 3xs a day--more is good but minimum of 3x) try this for a day or two to see if that helps, if not then get to a doctor and see what he says ...
i cut my finger and did this...it started to heal right up.

Maybe the cut was already there, and it got infected.? Since pus is coming out of it, you might want to let a doctor look at it. At least keep the area sterile, you don't want that to spread!Health Question & Answer
