Is my depression out of control?!

Question: Is my depression out of control.?
My anxiety is really bad. I can't breathe properly, my chest hurts and I constantly feel nervous.
I usually can't get more than 2 hours sleep per day, because of the shift work I do, but I have slept 23 of the last 28 hours, and spent most of the rest of the time in bed.
I don't want to see anyone, or do anything. I left my house for an hour and a half today and just drove the whole time, because I couldn't decide to do something or not. I feel like everyone hates me.
I can't decide if I feel sad, or if I feel completely empty.
I have been a recovering self injurer, it's been two months since i last cut myself, but that's all I want to do right now. I feel like my life is pointless. I can't handle it.
I am considering going to my doctor - i was on medication but stopped it 8 months ago. I want meds again, and a referral to a psychologist. I am scared to go to my doctor. I tried to ask a friend to come with me, but I couldn't do it, they don't need my problems. But i don't think i can do it alone. I would stop myself at the last minute.
I am hurting so much, I don't know how to cope, I don't know what to do. I feel like I am dying.

I see your situation here. Your depression seems to be gettiing a little outta hand & I strongly suggest you see your doctor. You could maybe call a friend, it would be easier than asking them face to face. | am sure that your friend(s) is/are worried about you, and would want to help. Every time you stop yourself from going, just remember why you are going to the doctor. Things will get better, just seek a doctor. I really hope this helps you & good luck!Health Question & Answer

Well done on not self harming for 2 months, that's a great achievement.
I have had the same problems as you and seeing my doctor is a huge deal for me. You do need support quite urgently if you are feeling suicidal and I suggest you look up crisis lines now and write them down so you can access one if you need one urgently.
You know how much you need to be back on medication and how you will feel so much better for it.
It's time to do the first step and pick up the phone and make that appointment with your doctor. Hard as that is, it's the worst bit over with then and you can get on the road to recovery. Google some depression chats or forums for some online help and support also.
To ask a friend to go to the doctors with you is not burdening them with your problems, it's just a doctors visit.
Google, DAILY STRENGTH and join the depression forum there. you will recieve lots of support.
If you are desperate you can email me and I will try to help to enable you to get to see your doctor.
Best wishes, I know how you feel.Health Question & Answer

Hey my friend has been like this aswell
i wouldnt say your feeling sad
i think your looking for something but your not finding it easy to find it.?
what exactly maked you feel like this.?
i think you should probally ask a friend, someone you trust to come with you. its really good you havent cut your self in a while, in my opinion that doesnt help at all.
i wouldnt say its out of controll
i think it can be fixed
you just need some help
maybe not from a doctor
maybe just by a friend.?
medication is an option but, its not a good idea to get to dependant on it. You could always try a psycologist though, if you feel its that bad.
also the breathing thing, that happens to me aswell, when i feel like i just cant do anything, and the worlds going on without me and stuff, it helps if you take deep breaths, but if it doesnt help maybe you should tell a dcotor

i really hope this helpsHealth Question & Answer

you are NOT dying. and you have to suck it up and go to the doctor. and if the meds you were on last time didnt work or made you feel a certain way, tell your dr and try something different ! there are many choices out there and you will find one to make you feel like you again! i promise! and maybe you should let your dr know about your anxiety attacks, because it will take a couple weeks for the meds to kick in . it might be a good idea to try to get some xanax or something to help when you have a panic attack. and dont be afraid to tell a friend or a family membert EXACTLY what you are going through. that way you can find someone you trust to be your life line. the person that you call when you are having a full blown panic attack and you think you are dying. this kind of person will snap you back in to reality and remind you that it is your mind playing tricks on you. i wish you the best of luck. i have been there. and my mom too. get the help you need and stick to it!Health Question & Answer

So how would you like to feel.? All that you described in your post are all the ways you feel or have been feeling...and all of them 'unwanted' I'd say. So how do you want to feel.? I think sitting down and writing it out would be a good start. When you keep telling the same story to yourself or those around you..you keep creating more of the same.

I'm not trying to diminish your current circumstances but until you can reach for something that raises you up out of it all, even just a little bit...it's difficult to see outside of your narrow scope.

Watch the movie The Secret by Rhonda Ryrne...(library) it's not the answer to everything...but it will give you some sense of hope and the actual control you really do have in your life. (was on Oprah a couple yrs ago)

Do you have things that you like to do or used to like to do.? Read, rent movies, walk the dog, sit in a book store or coffee shop, cook, clean something, look into volunteer opportunities..you will see other people who are much worse off then you in some circumstances...plus you meet new people etc. Time to start telling a different story for yourself- and ...and call someone or a professional when you need to!!Health Question & Answer
