Question: Freaking out over weed, anxiety and depression help.?
hey guys im in need of help really bad right now... im going to therphy right now trying to find out whats wrong with me.. they told me i had anxiety... 1st off im really bad on weed 25 a day for the past year and i having problems with my g/f and my homies are saying that i am a different person and i dont like that...so how am i going to fix this problem.? would the anxiety stop if i went down to like a joint a day or would i have to quit it all.?.?Health Question & Answer

maybe you should look at all the problems you have said on here and fix em.
I know easier said then done right. You have a gf what r the problems.?
Is it fixable.? Is it something that wont go away a personality clash somewhere or something about you or her. If its fixable and you really like her then make it work.
If its otherwise above realize you cannot change anyone ..No matter how you may try. People go back to what they really are. They can only change and that isnt until a real big dawning or realization on their part. Which usually is an entire change in their world which means you guys anyways.
Figure it out be truthful to you, or how do you expect anyone else to be to you.
Your friends: could be the gf (But is it a positive change or negative)
R they just jealous you are hanging out with her not them.? OR do they see the negative in your relationship that you are starting to see...

As soon as you take som time to think about things im sure you will find yourself calmed down. Doctors just like labels on things to give you pills.
Dont hang out with anyone for a full day and just have a day to your self take 2 or 3 and when you are ready to think about it you can realize whats important to you and whats a positive step you should make next.
Seems like a big deal now but Think of how much has happened to you in a year and realize that next year this wont seem like that big of a deal (why d you even freak out anyhow) theres always something trust me.Health Question & Answer

Weed makes you lazy and paranoid. Laziness and paranoia may be causing the problems you have with your gf. I have been smoking daily for over 10 years, and I find that if I smoke too much in a day, I feel awful and things start to fall apart. Especially if I start smoking first thing in the morning. I suggest that you smoke once a day, at the end of the day, as a way to relax. Try going to work sober and try to be sober around your gf. It will be weird at first, but you will feel much better once you get your smoking under control. Like everything else, too much of a good thing is bad. Good luck!

Edit: I see many people suggesting you take drugs for anxiety. Obviously drugs are what got you into this mess. It's a matter of self control. Cut back on the weed and you will feel 100 times better.Health Question & Answer

I would try stopping completely... I just started down the long road of quitting cigarettes and it is the most difficult thing I have every tried and I am a mother of two and a full time college student. I think that quitting for me will give me a lot better chance of being the mother, friend, and wife I want to be. I believe it will help you out too think of it this way you quit now you wont be battling this again in the coming years and wishing you would have stopped years ago. i smoke weed too, and i have anxiety and depression also.. keep going to therapy and really learn about your problem..i been to rehab and therapy, it really does help you understand your problem. What do you love to do whats your passion.? maybe you should find ways to occupy your time, i havent smoked weed in a week and i feel good.. i started off just staying at home smoking a few bowls then i just smoked less and less and now i havent smoked and tryign to keep that up.. its hard to stop smoking but once you get passed the first few days its gets easier and easier.. and i do feel alot better, i feel like myself.Health Question & Answer

Yes, there is a connection! Especially the amounts you do. Many will tell you there are no effects from pot, but that would only be for small amounts, and even then the experts would normally disagree. A lot of people with anxiety tend to self medicate. I don't think the weed caused the anxiety. I think your subconsciously using it to control it. The only problem is that it's probably making it worse. You should stop smoking every day. Maybe do it once in a while. That way it's not ruling your life. Everything in moderation. quit completely anxiety is one of the symptoms after heavy marijuana use i had to stop at first i would use for everything before work before and during school then i started getting paraoid and having alot of anxiety till i stopped cuz i got so anxious that everytime i smoked for somereason i thought i was gonna get caught after i stopped the anxiety depression stopped and the love for life will come back but not right awayHealth Question & Answer

wow... if you are in therapy and you know that you need help, i say stick with it..i have anxiety issues too.. mostly when im upset or i have alot on my mind.. i havent smoked pot in a really long time.. thats something i gave up in highschool.. but i strongly suggest that you quit...you can always find more friends, if your friends think your acting differently because you want to change yourself for the better than dont worry about them.. you have to live your life, you cant let other people stop you from doing what you want to do.. i think you should talk to your girlfriend.. and tell her how you feel.. im sure if she knew you were having these issues she would try to support you more... and i dont think cutting back on how much you smoke will help.. unless you really quit all the way..

my biggest suggestion.. is to stop smoking pot. and talk to the doctor about some anxiety & depression medicine.. but be careful with what you allow them to put you on.. some of those medicines are highly addictive.. and some arent...

Well i would say you should cut way down or quit. I'm pretty sure weed causes depression and it makes you lazy. I know from personal experience that weed changes your mood, makes you paranoid and can cause depression. You really need to quit but since you smoke so much a day you should try to cut down on your intake first then work on quitting.Health Question & Answer
