Question: How long till you feel the effects of welbutrin.?
I visited a psychiatrist for the first time in my life yesterday and he gave me a prescription for bupropion. From what I understand with antidepressants, you have to take them for a couple of weeks before you feel the effects of them, because so far I don't even know I'm taking them. Is this true, or should I feel the effects immediately.?Health Question & Answer

It's different for everyone, depending on your own body's chemistry. It took me two months before I starting feeling the effects of welbutrin and it is the best antidepressant that I have been on. I have been through hell trying to find the best antidepressant for me, the correct dosage, etc. (a lot of it is trial and error, what works for one person, may not work for another person and it is time-consuming as well as discouraging) and it really does take at least two months, or 6 to 8 weeks, for some people. Welbutrin is working for me and I cannot tell you what a difference it has made in my life.
