I'm reluctant to start a med but I do have a problem with panic/anxiety. My biggest concerns are - any serious side effect (like death), loss of sex drive, and weight gain....Health Question & Answer

I was on it for a year and yes it helped.Unfortunately by the time my Shrink and I figured it out I had gained 20 pounds from being on it.
Without asking for his advice I started lowering my dose(30 mg).OMG!!! Nightmare City!!! I had night tremors, horrible nightmares, saw things with weird shapes when my eyes were closed.I really thought I was going crazy.I even called treatment centers to see If I could ck. myself in (never in my life has this ever happened!!!).They suggested I contact my Shrink so I did told them it was really important I needed to get in & told the receptionist why.So 2 days latter I talked to my Shrink and found out NEVER, EVER GO COLD TURKEY OFF ON THIS OR TAPER YOURSELF OFF.People have committed suicide for doing this.One person even said the side effects for him going off on his own was worse then going cold turkey on Meth. OMG! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT.? also it does decrease your sex drive and you have a harder time achieving a orgasm.You want to, but it just does not happen.
With My Dr.'s help I am off of this now and soooo...... much happier.I am now taking a low dose of Lexapro.It's only 20mg (more can cause less sex drive)and I'm so happy.Of course I use wellbutrin too and it works for me.
My suggestion would be for you to tell your Dr. what you heard(don't google info on that med & problems cuz it's scary as _______!)Ask for other alternatives and be open to him.
Don't go completely by what I said as this is my experience.Everyone is different.Talk to your Shrink.
