Is my teacher bipolar?!

Question: Is my teacher bipolar.?
Or just really wierd.? lol.

So basicly one minute he's the funniest guy ever making our class laugh, then he gets all mad that we got loud, what did he expect when he was telling a joke, that we'd laugh once and be completely silent.? Lol.
Another thing is he'll be really fun to talk to, giving his complete attention, next minute he'll forget my name or have no time to talk.

What do you guys think is wrong.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It could very well be that he is bi-polar. There are varying degrees of this mental illness, and YES, it can vary from moment to moment depending upon the type of diagnosis he has, if he is indeed bipolar. If he is like this a lot, you might want to share it with your guidance counselor, anonymously--chances are other classmates are trying to spend their energy figuring him out, too.

Another thing is he could have ADHD--he sounds kind of hyper and then hyper-focused. My sister's boyfriend is like this (he's 36) and I know it can be frustrating.

So those are my guesses! Good luck!Health Question & Answer

No. People with bipolar do not experience mood swings within such a short amount of time like that. Typically, they experience a manic episode for a week or more and then may cycle to a depressive episode for a week or more. Even when they experience a mixed episode, they do not just flip from manic to depressive in a matter of minutes like that.

While it is possible that he has another mental illness, odds are that it is not bipolar.Health Question & Answer
