Methadone does not give a heroin addict the same high. My boyfriend was a heroin addict and attempted the whole methadone clinic deal and he said that methadone is a lot harder to kick than heroin. it's rougher and takes more time. We found a doctor that gave him suboxone and i think it's the best thing that we came across. it has an opiate blocker in it so if an addict uses while on it he doesn't get the high. it helped relieve all the symptoms of kicking and it's not as addictive as methadone!!! Well if you take bigger dose of methadone you will have almost the same effect like heroin...You are not going to have the heroin rush, but the warm and pleasant feeling are present with methadone too.There are tricks with shooting intravenously methadone with diasepam (valium), the effect is 15 minutes same as shooting heroin...
But first of all methadone is used like a cure from heroin addiction, so it shoudn't be same like it :)

I was under the impression that methadone stops the ability of the heroin to have an affect. So that if someone uses heroin whilst on methodone, they wont get wasted off of it. Thereby making it a waste of time and money using it.Health Question & Answer
