Good Luck...even the "newer ones" are packed with side effects, some that can last a life time (akathisia, tardive dyskinsea, dystonia). Talk to your doctor, and please, please make sure to look at the "little white pamphlet" that comes with your drug. If I had, I probably would have never taken my medication. I am now permanently impaired. Obviously, if you're considering medication, you are struggling, and for that I am so sorry. But, by talking to your doctor, and out-weighing the "benefits-to-risk" theory, you'll be able to make a sound decision. Medications effect everyone differently. I hope that you find one that works, and can find some peace in your life.Health Question & Answer

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over two years, and it's working very well for me.

The Wellbutrin SR seems to help me to be more alert and active - and wanting to do things - while the Lexapro makes me more mellow, and it helps me sleep better, too. They are relatively low doses of each medication, which keeps side effects at a minimum. I really can't tell I'm taking any medication at all.Health Question & Answer

I never got relief from my depression by taking anti-depressants.Health Question & Answer
