He is not ADHD. My son is ADHD and at the age of 2 he climbed on the roof of the house. He has not sat still in 16 years....... He doesn't just ask a question or point something out he talks for an hour without pausing. He had so much trouble in school (with some teachers, some were great) that I was fighting with them twice a week. When being told off he looked you right in the eye as if to tell you to go to he**. His teachers would have preferred him to look down....... Your son is fine, don't worry about him. Actually my son is fine too. Always was. Who cares what they call them as long as we love them.Health Question & Answer

That sounds like any normal child..

If you're looking for a diagnosis it sounds like ADHD, which stands for Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder.

But it also sounds like he's being a normal 10 year old boy.

Has he experience any drastic changes in his routine. New school, parents divorcing, death of someone close to him, any abuse issues, being bullied at school - these are some issues that might cause a child's behavior to change. Autism came to mind except for the fact that he is craving attention. I hate to say this but I can't help but wonder is someone is abusing him physically or sexually. I hope I'm wrong but if I were you I would be very cautious of who he spends time alone with. He's doing things to get your attention whether it be positive or negative. Let him know you love him without conditions and you are always there for him no matter what and if he has anything he'd like to talk to you about you will be there to listen, comfort and help him. I hope you find out what is wrong. I also hope you will make an appointment for him to talk to a mental health professional. If there is something going on other than just being a 10 yr old you can start the process of getting him better so he can enjoy a healthy future.Health Question & Answer

Yes, it is called childhood! None of these 'symptoms' sound unlike most 10 year old children!
I must ask what purpose you have for finding a "diagnosis" to these all too familiar qualities of a normal child.
They ask incessant questions, sign of intelligence
Not looking another in the eye when being "told off",,, when an adult disciplines a child they feel bad, guilty and it is NORMAL to look down or away! Looking an adult in the eye while being yelled at would be more of a problem! Not "seeming" to be bothered.? How do you know how the child feels.? It is COMMON for a child to hide their true feelings. Ability to cry easily, have tantrums.... we are talking about a child! Craving attention.? What child doesn't want it,, and what is the "average" amount of time.? Talking about his pets, what is wrong with that.?
This child is NORMAL, the frontal lobe doesn't develop until a young adult is in their late teens or early 20's. Let this child be a child!Health Question & Answer
