My girlfriend's parrot keeps mocking my depression problem, how do I get it to STOP!?!

Question: My girlfriend's parrot keeps mocking my depression problem, how do I get it to STOP!.?
Hi,

I live with my girlfriend and she has a small blue parakeet named Raymond. I live with her (im unemployed) and everytime she goes to work that little blue bastard mocks my depression problem. He'll usually start by saying "Look at you...you're pathetic", and "Sulk in misery, sulk in misery," followed by a loud annoying squawk. It gets to the point where I yell at the blue bastard, and begin shaking his cage.

One time I got so mad, I found a brick from outside and tossed it at his cage, and even through the bird in the toilet and threatened to flush him if he didn't shut up. The worst part is he does not do it when my girlfriend is around, and she tells me that this kind of bird won't be able to talk for another year.

I feel like my girlfriend is trying to accuse me of being crazy, like i am hearing things or something.? The bird has the most sinister laugh, especially when I am taking prozac. It is so bizarre, because I can be taking prozac in my room, (not even in front of the bird) and he'll start saying "ha ha ha taking prozac, taking prozac." How do I get this bird to stop.? It is getting to the point where I am going to have no choice but to end it's miserable life, because he is making my depression worse.Health Question & Answer

...kill it and buy one that looks exactly the same....?Health Question & Answer

If this is a serious question, see your doctor.
Parrots only repeat what they hear, and unless someone has been saying these things to the parrot, that couldn't be possible.
It's likely that you're having some sort of reaction to the medication.

I do hope this isn't a joke...Health Question & Answer

Parrots don't say things like that - this could be a hallucination as a result of the medication and/or stress.

I'd recommend describing this to your psychiatrist.

By the way, don't kill the parrot - this isn't its fault.Health Question & Answer
