Answers:
You could have mild depression if you only have a few (under five) symptoms of depression, or if you are still functioning normally but it takes extra effort (ex: you have to force yourself to get out of bed, go to class/work, talk to people, etc). The symptoms include

Either feeling sad or loss of interest or pleasure
accompanied by any of the following:
feeling worthless or guilty
fatigue
chronic unexplained pain
inability to concentrate
sleeping or eating too little or too much
feeling physically slowed down or restless
recurring thoughts of death or suicide

You have to have had the symptoms on most days for more than two weeks. If you've had five or more of the symptoms, it's a major depressive episode.Health Question & Answer

Mostly things like:

1. Lack of interest in activities you used to enjoy (including lack of interest in sex).
2. Change in eating pattern (eating a lot more or a lot less).
3. Change in sleep pattern (usually sleeping more, but sometimes sleeping less).
4. Tendency to over-react to small disappointments.
5. Not taking care of yourself (aka decrease in hygiene).

Feeling unmotivated and a little antisocial - in that you prefer to remain at home in your own company than go out with others for example.
also, a loss of interest in things that you usually enjoy, and being less concerned about how well you do things.
You'll basically not be bothered about doing 'extra' activities, as they no longer seem as important, but the things you have to do, you'll still do.
And lastly, you may lose a little interest in food and seem generally low in spirits.Health Question & Answer

Well, you would feel tired, kinda down-in-the-dumps, lazy, loss in appetite, sad and not feel like yourself. It's good to avoid dark rooms (this can cause more sadness). If there is a sudden change in your job, where you live or loss of family or friend. That can cause depression too. If you are getting really depressed and start thinking about suicide or hurting yourself, I would talk to your doctor. Feel better!Health Question & Answer
