Question: What makes a person kill themselves.?
obviously they must be depressed and angry but i mean everybody feels like that sometimes, why so many kids teenagers commit suicide, and adults too. I was taught to believe life is valuable and always worth living no matter what but then I hear these stories of people killing themselves and it makes me question the whole thing. is life actually meaningless.? if they can take their own life, then why do we continue, why do we put up with all the trouble if there are some among us who don't think it's worth it.? I dont think there is a clear answer because I think different people do it for different reasons. I lost my 12 year old sister to suicide 3 years ago (she didnt leave a note) and we aren't sure why she did it. I doubt she really though it through to be honest. Some people get into bad situations and they do not see an escape. I have thought about this question so many times, but it just leaves me feeling more hopeless. I think its best not to try to understand, it will just leave you feeling depressed youself.Health Question & Answer

but its because sometimes people can't handle when they have a bad day, which can lead to situational depression. then that can lead to clinical depression, when the brain is chemically imbalanced. more than often people who commit suicide are already clinically depressed, and more than often it is also untreated.
but away from the scientific aspect of it, some people really dig themselves into a rut, wallowing in their depression. tehn they see no way out of their rut, and they keep hoping that somehow they will get out of it, but eventually they just see aboslutely no way out of their rut and kill themselves.
it depends on the person's personal perserverence.
life is far from meaningless. some people just lose sight of its meaning. life IS valuble and worth living. killing yourself does not solve anyone's problems. humankind was made to perservere, to overcome obstacles. if we just give up, then we really are defeating our purpose in the world.Health Question & Answer

Its really a mystery you can't ask the person who committed suicide why cause they are already dead. It can be for a variety of reasons, like they need an escape from an abusive relationship; they can not cope with the loss of a loved one; they have suffered a severe trauma example a sexual assault. No one really knows and only 12% of suicides leave a note and most of the time the note is confusing. We as a society can't understand what someone else is feeling and even if we have been in the same situation everyone's feelings are different.
