tell your friends' mom exactly what you just said. it's important to know that you can't fix something that YOU don't believe is a problem. it's up to YOU to realize the harm that you're doing to yourself and to want to put an end to it. the hard part is getting to that point.

i have a very close friend who is exactly the same way. for almost as long as i've known her, she's been bulimic. she's been in and out of treatment for years, but has never actually stopped hurting herself. she went from being this gorgeous girl who was full of life, to this distant unhappy stranger whose hair was falling out and whose teeth were rotting and whose organs were failing. she is killing herself, but doesn't love herself enough to stop. and if you ask her about it, she will tell you exactly what you said, "I'm fine."

let her get you some help. listen to what others have to say about it. talk to someone who will actually listen to what you have to say. if you need someone to listen or need some advice, you can email me. good luck sweetie, don't give up on yourself.Health Question & Answer

You already said that you are bulimic, yet you think you don't need help. Saying that you have a disease, pretty much clears it up that you need help. You have to work hard to get better. A psychiatrist won't give you a magic pill that makes you stop. You have to try to do it. I've been seeing a psychiatrist for two years and I'm still having trouble with my eating disorder. But give it a try. More people would rather see you get help than stand by and watch you hurt yourself. It makes them feel helpless not doing anything.Health Question & Answer

Honey, if you say you have bulimia, you have a problem. Please get help. What you're doing to your body is very stressful and harmful, and it's not just hurting you, it's hurting everyone around you. Let your friend's mom help you, it's not a matter of time and money, it's a matter of life and health.

The ugly truth of bulimia is that your teeth and esophagus are going to rot out from all of the stomach acid that flows through them. If you break all of your sphincters vomiting, in a couple of years, you won't be able to bend over after you've eaten because your food will just fall right back out of your stomach. Please get help, you've admitted that you have what is considered to be a disease, so please admit that you have a problem and go see the therapist.Health Question & Answer
