would there be anything else that a doctor be likely to prescribe for severe depression.. (but not risperidone)Health Question & Answer
Answers:
There are many medications for depressive illnesses.. Usually you find that severe/moderate depression requires treatment, and the meds are the same its gthe dose that changes.. Respiridione is NOT and antidepressant it is an atypical anti-psychotic used in the treatment of psychosis, although it can be used in combination with SSRI antidepresants in cases of extreme anxiety and depressive cognitionas..Fluoxetine (Prozac) is normally effective, however as with all psychiatric medications they are only as effcetive as the therapist who engages with the patient/service user.. If you are just taking the tablets don't expect miracles.. If you are engaging with a properly qulified councellor/CPN/DR then if yopu listebn and do the leg work you will come through it..Health Question & Answer
