Question: What's the longest time you've been depressed.?

I was diagnosed with depression in 1973 or '74 at the age of 19, but it has been going on for awhile before that..
Over the years, I saw psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and counselors, took various anti-depressants, but nothing seemed to work.. I'd see someone until I ran out of money or maxed out insurance.. In 2001, I finally ended up on public assistance and got the therapy I needed to sort of level it off, but it wasn't until 2004, with the suggestions of a nurse practitioner that I got off of medication and started taking supplements and made some minor dietary changes that things turned around..
When they did, I looked up an old flame; we were married in 2005.. I'm now a mental health worker, helping those that have fallen through the cracks, as I once did..Health Question & Answer
