I really need a lifestlye change?!
Question: I really need a lifestlye change.?
I have recently come to realize just how low the quality of my life is, i'm unemployed with no desire to find a job, i'm slightly overweight as i have been my entire life, i live at home with my mother her husband and my little sister and DO want to have my own life someday but i cant seem to shake my undesired lifestyle...... Ho do i improve the quality of my life.? what are some things that could possibly bring me more happiness.? i smoke pot frequently ( not everyday) and whenever i run into something that requires my full attention or that requires me to change myself for the better i have the tendency look forward to the next time i smoke and just relax my anxiety ridden self...... i don't want medical help i just want ideas on how i can get out of the rut i dug myself into..Health Question & Answer

it sounds to me as though you may be slightly depressed and are self-medicating with the pot..
even though you don't want medical help, I am going to suggest you look into DBT.. There are books and sites online that can help you..
DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) really helped me.. It is a set of skills that help people deal with whatever is going on in their lives from depression to anxiety to OCD..
One other thing, when i was in DBT they ha daily tasks for me.. one was to do something that made me feel competent.. Whether it was merely cleaning up my room, applying for a job or learning a new skill.. the other daily task was to do something pleasurable EVERYDAY.. even something little (and smoking pot doesn't count).. It could be read a book, exercise, go out for ice-cream.. whatever..
one last bit of advice, i would quit the smoking pot, self-medicating doesn't generally work and pot can actually be a depressant.. It is also an escape mechanism.. if you smoking if purely for pleasure or as a social thing then i would have no problem but the fact that you say you lean on it when you feel anxious is worrisome.. It is a crutch and not a good oneHealth Question & Answer
