Off to see the therapist... how does this work? I'm making myself sick today for fear of this appointment.?!

Question: Off to see the therapist...... how does this work.? I'm making myself sick today for fear of this appointment...?
I had my first appointment, where she asked details about my life & family history.. I guess this would be the first actual appointment.. I'm not sure where to start.. Do I just start blubbering like an idiot and tell her everything that's wrong.? Wait for her to ask things.?
Honestly, I want to cancel.. But it's too late.. If I don't show, they charge me and my insurance won't cover it..
Anymore, I feel like I just can't do it anymore.. I can't fake anymore.. Work is killing me.. I have to act happy and I'm just lying to everyone, and myself.. Does mental fall under sick time.? Furthermore, what good would that do.? Sit around feeling sorry for myself.?
GRRR...... WHAT.?.?.? What the hell do I do at this point.?Health Question & Answer

You can start blubbering like an idiot, or you can wait for her to ask things.. Either one would work fine, don't be stressed out over this though it's designed to help you not hurt you.. Seems to me you're afraid to see what's wrong with you judging by the fact that you don't know what to say, but if you want to break the lie you can tell the therapist anything.. Start wherever u want to start, she'll lead you in the right direction by asking you questions back, that's how psychotherapy works.. You'll actually give her the answers to your problems and she'll explain them to you.. You can make the appointment about anything you want after all a therapist is basically somebody you pay to listen to your problems with an open mind free of bias and then helps teach you what is causing the turmoil in your life!

you'll do well, you've taken the first steps you want help and you asked for it, now let it work..Health Question & Answer

Really dont worry as I have been there and its never as bad as you imagine! They are trained and will put you at ease, probably asking you a few trigger questions which you can answer in your own time.. Dont think of it as a test, but just be as honest as you can, and the real issues will come out.. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
