Question: I want to go to the doctors to get myself tested for OCD but how do i conince my parents.?
I am pretty sure i need to get checked out or OCD but i don't know how i can convince my parents to take me to the doctors because im only 13 and i don't really have much control in my life (go to my other question for my symptons) please tell me what i could say to start it or something like that because i am absolutely clueless.Health Question & Answer

You tell them that it is affecting your life and it's making it hard to function. I'm sure they have notice all your quirks, when my daughter opened up to me with more of her thoughts-etc, I knew it right away and she was asking for help-so I had to do it.

research it online and get a list of symptoms, highlight everyone you have and sit down for a talk with your parents, they should be willing to get you help, if not then you can always make an appointment yourself, doctors will not refuse a patient because their parents don't approve of it. You may need their permission to get a prescription filled but if you have a diagnosis then i don't see why they would be against it.Health Question & Answer
Just let them know you want to see a counselor. You don't have to be specific and tell them you think you have OCD. Just say you wanna talk to them and tell them you've been having some problems that are concerning you and that you wanna see a therapist. Health Question & Answer
