Back pain related to anxiety?!
Question: Back pain related to anxiety.?
I have anxiety and OCD and i just started school like two weeks ago. I have asthma but it was perfectly okay until school started i felt like i couldn't breathe again so i went to the doctor and they gave me advair. It helps me but when i'm in school my back feels like its in knots and makes me feel like i can't breathe. Is that anxiety related.? I am nervous a lot.Health Question & Answer

Definitley related. I get pains in my back because my anxiety makes me very tense. In fact I probably have knots everywhere! My head gets so tense and heavy sometimes that I just have to lay down for a while... Anxiety is a horrible disorder because it not only affects your thought process but it is physically exhausting! The symptoms are horrible and painful sometimes. I would suggest a massage, or having someone at home trying to rub the kinks out, it may help at least for the time being. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
I always used to get moderate to severe lower back pain when having anxiety issues, and I have read about back pain being anxiety related. Of course, other things cause back pain, and if you have experienced it for a week or more, it would be smart to tell a doctor. Tension knots in the back are a very common symptom of anxiety, and I find that a chiropractor or accupuncturist can give lots of relief. Best of luck to you.Health Question & Answer
you need meds for the anxiety. the back pain is probably caused by that. treat yourself as if you had a back injury. legs up ice and heat alternately and ibuprofen for the pain. hope you get better.Health Question & Answer
yes it is anxiety.
my advice is.
either switch schools while seeing a counselor or therapist.
