Question: Can losing your motivation in school have anything to do with suffering from anxiety and depression.?
I used to be such a good student in middle school. Now in high school I try to just get by each night. My GPA is a 3.385-ish. The lowest it's been is a 3.25. In middle school I was a straight A student. I feel like I've screwed up my future already...Health Question & Answer

Yes depression and anxiety can certainly affect your grades. However, it's very normal to feel depressed or anxious at this stage of life. I remember it all too well and it's a priod of great excitement and confusion as well.
I have suffered from and researched depression on and off for years. Finally I decided to try a medication after seeing my doctor. It helped with both my depression and anxiety. however, being a teel there can be adverse side effects from many of theses medications. up to and including suicide.
Some studies show that exercise can have a better effect on depression than many medications. You may want to try getting physically active. Another means to help combat this is talking with someone you respect. I don't mean your friends, but maybe a counselor, or, your parents if they can be understanding and supportive.
Keep in mind that there are many people who are in the same boat and this can be a normal state of mind for someone your age. The best bet is to talk with someone and get out and do something to take your mind off the anxiety.
A 3.25 GPA isn't too bad. It won't get you into Harvard, but I highly doubt your future is ruined. Being young gives you many second chances. Cut yourself some slack.

Sure it can, Polly, and it can also do with losing a best or group of friends, bf, parental problems. If you have done well in school in the past then I think we can rule out ADD or ADHD.?.?
If u do an inventory on yourself and do not see what has changed in your life to cause the pit you've dropped in to....try looking at the future....you will sooner-than-u-think be king of the hill; a senior. At that point you can direct your mind to your future as an adult, and if that scares you, you've discovered the problem... a mild anxiety/depression/fear of the future, getting out on your own. Then talk to your folks and school counselor, as well, seek out a good therapist, they can do wonders.
You have much to look forward to, try to remember that, it could be much worse. There but for the grace of God go u or I.
