You would know your illness, you would accept it, and you would use your mind to manipulate others. I'm becoming aware of my Borderline Personality traits, and low self esteem, and looking at sociopaths I knew in the past. I know I've been played by a few of them. Health Question & Answer
Psychopathy is characterized by the fact that those who have it don't understand reality. They are more likely to believe in their impulses or hallucinations. They also have the mental sleight-of-hand to separate what they think from what they do. A psychotic can believe that they are excellent parents even if they are in fact very abusive because their brain glosses over the parts they don't want to see.
