How can you tell whether your thoughts and actions are down to irrational behaviour or a form of adhd?!

Question: How can you tell whether your thoughts and actions are down to irrational behaviour or a form of adhd.?
I've never been to the doctors to ask about this but I really think that my irrational and uncontrolled thoughts maybe down to something other than insecurity. Generally I'm happy, outgoing and confident but have these consistent moments where I have really irrational thoughts. Like what's the point of living.? whether the way I interact with people is 'normal' and that I some how am on a completely different page to the majority of people I interact with - this can result in irrational behaviour and overall I think I must be weird or something. Remaining focused is also an issue for me it's hard to get thru work without my mind drifting, particularly when I'm in meetings and people are talking to me.

Thoughts would be appreciated. Health Question & Answer

Answers:
When you have these irrational thoughts, do you recognize them as irrational.? Often times, people who have OCD-type symptoms have intrusive thoughts or ruminations, but with OCD they generally realize what they are experiencing isn't really normal, and often recognize them for what they are.

OCD can occur without the compulsion part, do you feel as those these thoughts are intrusive and without merit.? If so, it may be work seeking a therapist, so you can get it under control before it gets worse... I know from experience you don't want these things to blow out of proportion.

Unless things are really bad for you, don't let them talk you into medication... the pros do not outweigh the cons unless your condition is crippling you in your everyday life.Health Question & Answer

I think most people have thoughts like that sometimes.
However you should talk to a doctor rather than trying to sort out serious issues on here. Health Question & Answer

you are just being emo. adhd if you can't ever do any one thing for more than 5 minsHealth Question & Answer

From what you say, I believe you are simply a free-thinker. When in meetings, people will generally act in a prescribed way, sitting attentively, saying only what they feel will gain brownie points etc. Deep inside, many of them are probably supressing quite different thoughts and emotions. Often in meetings, I think about other things, and I also can't help thinking that some people are full of false commitment and for want of a better word, bullshit.

As a result I have taken the plunge and recently changed my job and life. I now work in more manual jobs, something I find infinitely more satisfying. I even went as far as to emigrate to a different country. Maybe you just need a change to something you enjoy, rather than something you have to do.?

Don't get too down...I think this just shows you have intelligence.Health Question & Answer
