Question: My health, Someone help please...?
Im always tidying things, if there not my way then i go mad and i have to sort it out, if there's 1 knife in the sink that needs washing up, i cant relax until ive done it, then after that i think to myself i can actually sit down, then something else will come up. the coaster on the table will not be Straight and it really annoys me. everything has to be prim and proper and CLEAN. also. if anyone knocks on my door and im home alone, i hide. i get so scared i cant answer the door, ill turn everything off so it looks like no ones home, and the same when someone walks up to me in the streets. they must think im so rude. i walk away or wont talk to them, i cant even answer my house phone. and if i no i HAVE to go to do food shopping, i am continuously on the toilet before i go. (no.2), i just panic so much if i have to go out in public. i don't know whats wrong.? and when i panic. i have a lump that comes in my throat, and feels really tight and like i have a sore throat coming on, i just cant stand anyone coming near me who i don't know and talking to me, or anyone messing my home up.?.?Health Question & Answer

OCD mixed with social anxiety disorder. It's quite common.

Contact your GP for referral to a psychologist who specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

You don't have to live this way, and there is help out there for you. But to try and get out of your OCD rituals and the anxiety problems alone is difficult!

Don't be put off by long waiting lists, just get yourself on the list and you'll get help.

I did CBT (for an OCD type disorder) and it was sincerely the best decision I ever made in my whole life.

Your cleaning sounds like it is about control. You feel so out of control in your life that these habits give you the feeling you have control over some things in your life.

Maybe you should set small goals for yourself for example living the dishes for a few hours why you listen to music or something. Try making small changes and build up slowly. Take it at the pace your comfortable with. Maybe start to set a goal to get out everyday even if it is just down the shop and back. You will feel better facing things, reward your efforts. It will take time but It Can happen. THINGS CAN CHANGE FOR YOU. All you need is to be is willing.
