Can I take my generic Wellbutrin (300mg) dated from 2006?!

Question: Can I take my generic Wellbutrin (300mg) dated from 2006.?
It was given to me in 2006. I have a whole bottle left b/c I didn't like the size of the generic rx so I switched to the brand.

Now, my insurance copay is so high I'd rather not pay for new wellbutrin when I have a huge bottle of generic from 2006.

I've heard that medicine outlives it's experation date.

I think the 2006 was when I received it, NOT the expiration date... there was no expiration date on it.

And if it is expired, what would happen.?Health Question & Answer
