I'm seventeen years old and I'm going for a ADHD screening sometime next week.
I've been struggling with school for the last few years, and have trouble focusing for longer than 5 minutes at a time.
I just would like to know what to expect when I go.
Like what they would do to assess me.
I'm a little nervous, and curious.

This is a 3 to 4 page questionnaire about your ability - or lack of ability to stay focused. The questions are pretty straightforward. For example, one might ask, "When you read a page in a book or magazine, does your mind wander.?" or "Do you have trouble finishing a task.?" or "How often do you interrupt another person who is talking to you.?". Adults complete the questionnaire themselves; for children, assessments like this are done for them by parents and teachers.
Your answers will be scored on a percentage basis and from this, the doctor can determine if you are ADHD. Health Question & Answer

I'm 38. I've known I had ADD since I was a kid. None of my other shrinks would ever take the time to assess me. they shrugged it off as depression. so FINALLY over this past summer, I got a great shrink who first put me on mood stabilizers and then told me when i feel more stable, take the ADD questionaire. so i did and i scored really high on the ADD screening. She officially diagnosed me with ADHD, which is different in adults than kids, but it's SO great to be on strattera and FINALLY be able to concentrate.

Depends what kind of test it is. It may be an x-ray type of thing, or it may be non-medical where they just give you surveys and ask questions.Health Question & Answer
Adult ADHD (you are almost there), there is a screening test that you can take - just google it.
