Question: If you have lupus no money to buy your own food and you are not eligible for foodstamps yet and have no tran...?
sportation and are in your 20's and have to live with your parents who act like buying a carton of eggs is a lot of trouble, or that taking you any place (the only place you ever go is the grocery store which is 1 mile away and the only reason you go have to go in is because they don't want to) is really putting them out when they're not poor and completely able and you can't work.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

What I would do is look into state subsidized apartments and try to get on the waiting list for one. I understand that you have lupus and it is a very debilitating disease. However, I do feel that you can still lead an independent life. Go to your local aid office and inquire about ssi and other benefits you might qualify for.

Your parents might be trying to teach you that live does not end with Lupus. I really don't want to believe that they don't care for you. Health Question & Answer

My girlfriend has a very servere form of lupus and transverse myeletis, and she's on disability, but leads a independant life and attends college. i might have the illness as well, and im going to apply for disability soon as well. it helps alot with all the medical bills and pills. i have schizo-affective disorder already, and now either heart disease or lupus, and high blood pressure, and am over 3000 in debt, so it will help tremendouslyHealth Question & Answer

I'd apply for disability, then move out, as soon as practicable after it was granted. http://www.webmd.com shows a new vaccine holds promise for the future, but it would be 10 yrs away. Eggs are high in Omega 6 fatty acid, and Americans get about 10 times more of it than Omega 3, when the ratio should be around 1:1. Omega 3 also helps with arthritis, and the depression which is often associated with Lupus.

If you can't afford the supplements, eat more oily, cold water fish, such as sardines, mackeral, tuna, and salmon (3 times a week is good). Sorry I can't be of more help, but possibly try the lupus Groups, at Myspace, Google, Yahoo, and the Lupus support organisatons, such as http://www.mdjunction.com or www.lupusmo.org

There are multiple others. SEARCHES: The Entireweb - Looksmart - AltaVista - A9 - AOL - Ask - Clusty - Gigablast - Google - Lycos - MSN - Yahoo & Search.com search engines and wikipedia.org websites are excellent sources of information. I used the WebFerret search engine. www.wrongdiagnosis.com & www.careplace.com & http://dailystrength.org/groups Health Question & Answer
