In highschool, my friends and i would always avoid group activities. why?!

Question: In highschool, my friends and i would always avoid group activities. why.?
In highschool my friends and I were basically a group of loners who hung out together, listened to nirvana and metal and smoked marijuana. we avoided group work with other peers, we refused to participate in activities on school camps, we didn't join in swimming carnivals or sports days, and we didn't celebrate school spirit. i spent a lot of time studying at nights and on the weekends. all my friends went on to university and have jobs now or are nearly finished their degrees. i have one degree and im onto my second. i was just wondering what type of people my friends and i were in highschool.? Not everyone are sports jocks. You guys were simply the stereotypical highschoolers. Didn't give much of a **** about sports, but certainly cared quite a bit about academic achievements, while enjoying the joys of drugs and quality music.Health Question & Answer

Your choosing to not participate in what is regularly regarded as "normal" or group activities was your way to rebel against the authority and the established order.Health Question & Answer
