One of my best friends refuses to see a counselor, even though he has had a very rough upbringing, because he doesn't believe in telling strangers his story. My advice to you, as it is to him, is to open up to them because they are there to help you. You should, as mentioned before, give it time; time helps all things. I have the same problem I need to see a counselor also, but I haven't been brave enough yet. I am very proud of you for taking that step. I will tell you what helps me, when you are home and relaxed write down what you want to say and take it with you to your counselor, that way when you get there you can look at what you wrote to help you say what you need to say. good luck to you!Health Question & Answer

well, you could start off slowly or vaguely
till you learn to trust the person

or you could always write to them
letter/poem or something like that..
