Should I tell my psychologist this?!

Question: Should I tell my psychologist this.?
I haven't seen here in a while, but during that time I did self-harm a little, it really was nothing too bad at all. Previously when I told her I had cut she didn't say much about it. I guess I'm being a little proud in how I don't really want to tell her. Is this something I need to tell her.?

Oh, I started seeing her for anxiety if that matters, and I'm 17Health Question & Answer

I'm not going to lie. I've done it before and I've had help getting past self-mutilation (it takes time). But yes, please tell her. I know you secretly feel proud that you are hiding it so well, or that you only did it "a little bit", or even that it may not happen again, but when it comes to this issue, even a little bit means something in your brain doesn't know yet how to cope with stressful situations without this "crutch". Please tell your doctor so you two can figure out your triggers and ways to deal and deflect. Think of it this way, you only did it a little this time. What happens when you are really really stressed.? When only doing it a little doesn't work anymore.? You need to work through this and learn how to deal with stress/anger/depression or whathaveyou differently. Please tell your doctor.

also, if she isn't responding to what you say, consider getting a new doctor. This is a serious issue and if she isn't addressing it then go to someone who better understands it.Health Question & Answer

definetly tell her..your psychologist is here to help you..and just because you didnt get the right response doesnt mean she doesnt care..she's probably knows that you want a big reaction and thats why she hasnt given you one..you shouldnt take pride in doing something like that and she knows it..she knows your taking pride in it and thats how shes teaching you.Health Question & Answer

Yes tell her so you don't cut yourself too much. And if you are not pleased with her reaction tell her and ask for another. Don't hurt yourself anymore.Health Question & Answer
